Asking your roofing company questions will help you determine if they are the right one for you. Everyone has different needs and expectations, and everyone’s home is different, which is why one roofer may be better suited to your needs than another. What no one wants is to be scammed or ripped off and everyone wants a stunning, long-lasting roof. In parts 1, 2, and 3 of our series we gave you the first fifteen questions, now here are the last five.

16. Will My Quote Be Itemized?

If the quote just gives you one lump sum, you will not know what is included in that price and you really don’t want to find yourself presented with extra costs at the end of the job that were not included in the quote. The best way to protect yourself is to ask for an itemized quote before you agree to have any work done.

17. What is the Payment Schedule?

Spare yourself the stress of the money business getting uncomfortable by knowing up front about the payment schedule and whether it is okay for you. Find out what is due when, and all the other details of the payment schedule, including how much down payment is expected. As well as, when the work is expected to be started, and how that fits in with the payment times. Will you bill date be affected if the work gets delayed?

18. What Financing Options Do You Offer?

Be sure to read the fine print as you would do with any financial offer. Understand the contract terms and the interest rate and be informed generally about whether it’s the right deal for you. if necessary, ask someone you trust to go through the contract with you and be sure it’s a good deal. Compare the offer with other available options in the marketplace, such as a bank loan or home equity credit to see which offers you the best terms. Remember to be very careful what you sign when dealing with financial offers. There are many ways to get scammed.

19. Who Will Be My Point of Contact and How Do I Contact Them?

Usually the best contractors will appoint one person to be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction during the job. If you need to ask for help, share a concern, or resolve any problems you should be able to contact this person.

20. What If A Problem Arises That I’m Not Satisfied With?

If you know the proper procedure and channels to go through with any disagreements, you will be better able to make your dissatisfaction known in a productive and appropriate way.
